IBS-DBR (Dual-Battery-Relay)

The IBS-DBR (Dual Battery Relay) is the most integrated Dual Battery Management System on the market. Within the IBS Hi- Performance 200A/12V or 100A/24V Relay operates a full MicroComputer system monitoring and controlling the dual battery setup. 15 years experience took place in this very smart relay handling up to 500Amp cross current between the 2 batteries.

Advantage:

  • All integrated into the IBS 200A Power Relay
  • Very simple under bonnet installation
  • External emergency switch for full link start support
  • RBM (IBS Relay Booster Module) function integrated for a safe Link Start
  • Lowest consumption <1mA
  • Optical isolated link terminal to protect internal electronics against misuse and wrong installation
  • 13.1V link and 13.0V de-link with time delay matches latest alternator settings e.g. under hot temperatures
  • Twin spike protection on Main and Aux terminal
  • Operates if one battery is present
  • Extended automotive temperature range -40 0C to + 105 0C
  • 5 years warranty, (CE, FCC and RoHS compliant)
  • Waterproof setup, made for under bonnet installation
  • 24V System available (IBS-DBR/24V)

User friendly functions:

  • Links if charge is present either on Main or Aux battery
  • Link de-activation if AUX battery is missing (trailer), shuts down power to trailer plug
  • 30min manual battery link with automatic return
  • Full solar system support
  • LED indication, link and battery operation status
  • Triple Battery setup extension with IBS/DBi/TJM-DBS

IBS-DBR Configurations

Car/4WD with manual Link

Simple installation in a SUV, car or 4WD. Link function allows to perform full link start from aux battery. Aux battery can also be a removable temporarily used battery.

Car/4WD with manual Link

Triple battery in 4WD with combined Link

Triple battery to extend battery capacity. In emergencies all 3 batteries are linked with the manual link function from the IBS-DBS or DBi-DBS. Energy level can easily be displayed with the IBS-SBS (battery display).

Each battery supplies its range of
appliances. All batteries are charged simultaneously from alternator. If Solar is installed charge is distributed onto all 3 batteries automatically. Solar will have priority on battery where it is installed, normally AUX1.

Triple battery in 4WD with combined Link

Dual battery 4WD with trailer, combined Link

Very useful for all customers using trailers. Trailer battery is  charged while driving. IBS-DBR detects if trailer battery is not present IBS-DBR disengages safely the charge to the power plug, no misuse is possible. If solar is installed to trailer and enough charge is available, charge is distributed to Main and AUX battery in the car.

In emergencies the link function from the IBS-DBS links all three batteries for a safe start. Use adequate wiring to the trailer.

IBS-DBR installation is also possible if other than IBS Dual Battery System is installed.

Car/4WD with Trailer

Full automatic trailer Dual Battery System installation. DBR detects if trailer battery is not present DBR disengages safely the charge to the power plug, no misuse is possible. If solar is installed to trailer and enough charge is available, charge is distributed to Main Battery.
